Construction Process

We believe in constructing quality pool and spa projects, built to your needs. Each phase of construction will be personally supervised by the owner or a member of upper management to ensure personal attention and quality control of your project.

Naturally, most people are quite curious about the steps required to move from designing your pool and spa to completing the project. The following illustrations and  comments are representative of what will happen at your home during installation of your new spa and swimming pool.

Excavation Stage

With this being the first day of construction, it is an exciting one!  First, we mark out and stake the custom design of your new pool and spa. We strongly encourage customer participation during this stage to ensure the pool will be located where you had envisioned.  When you are satisfied that everything is to your liking, we bring in the heavy equipment and begin digging.

Usually, it takes only one working day to complete the excavation of your pool and to remove the dirt from your back yard.  Our excavation crew is amazing!  You will enjoy watching the beginning transformation of your backyard.

Steel Stage

After the pool has been dug, our steel crew will begin placing steel reinforcing rods inside the excavated hole, which will be tied on a 10" x 10" on center through out the entire pool.

Then we double reinforce in the stress areas of your pool by doubling up the steel to a 5" x 5" tied  on center, which consists of three quarters of your pool area. Half inch steel is tied throughtout the bond beam of pool.

The plumbing crew comes in next and plumbs the pool with 1 1/2" to 2" schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Gunite Stage

I think this stage will be the most enjoyable stage for you to watch!  We  shoot dry gunite, which is a mixture of sand, cement and water.  This is pneumatically applied by means of a gun, or customized hose,  which is operated by compressed air. The water is added to the dry materials as they pass through the gun.

This is shot directly on to the virgin Earth bonding tightly around the steel rods. We guarantee a minimal thickness of 10" to 12", creating a monolithic structure for a swimming pool of superior strength.

Brick, Rock, Tile, & Equipment Stages

The beauty of your pool begins to emerge when our skilled stone and tile masons apply the natural stone or brick around the top of the bond beam of the swimming pool and spa.

Then the tile of your choice in installed around the inside perimeter of the pool. If you have purchased a rock waterfall or other types of rock walls, the mason will build  these beautiful creations to enhance the beauty of your pool and make your backyard a haven of tranquility.

Equipment will then be delivered and set up, allowing the electrician to do his job.

The decking that surrounds your pool can be washed aggregate concrete, brick, stone or many other materials.

Plaster Stage

Finally, we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and your swimming pool and spa are almost complete.  We shoot the pool with two coats of a white marcelite plaster or an upgrade colored plaster. Plaster's purpose is to make your pool water tight and give you a very smooth surface to walk on. This is about a 4 hour process, and immediatly upon completion, we begin to fill the pool up with your water hose.  The average time it takes to fill a pool is approximately twenty four hours.

Then, we will set up a time that is convenient for you to do a one on one "start-up".  We will take this time to explain to you how to operate and care for your beautiful new Crystal Clear Pool.  Congratulations on completition, and get to swimming!!

And that's not all . . . .

These are just a few things you can count on learning about.  When we come out to meet with you, we will also educate you in more detail what to expect during stages of construction, what your equipment options are, the different shapes and sizes availabe, your city's restrictions with regard to obtaining a permit for construction, and the pros and cons of the options you have chosen.  We want you to be completely educated so your "dream backyard" never turns into years of regrets.  We want to help you make memories of relaxation, fun, and of course we want to meet our goal of 100% satisfaction!
